I think its a fair leap that the light saber battles in the OT were less flashy because Vader was so much better than his opponents in the first two and his heart wasn't in it in the last one. I'm mean its not remotely true....it was the limitations of the time but you could justify it that way to your kids or something and they'd buy it.

I've only seen it once but I remember it being pretty effective.

So, going by all the posts so far, ALL the lightsaber battles are good except for AotC. Right?

The Obi Wan/Anakin one is also terrible. especially when they hit the lava bullshit. The beginning of the fight is fine though.
