PS - I just listened to this RITFW on low volume in the background on my PC, not watching the video just listening, and nothing about the drums stood out to me.

Chad's playing behind the beat, not pushing it like Matt does. It's all about the feel.

And he brings the song different dynamics by opening the high hat and moving to the rode cymbals at the appropriate times.
