I just got the CRB record store day vinyl set and wow that is a beautiful pressing and packaging. Sounds really good too. Highly recommend getting it if you like what they do.

Man they sound good with jackie greene on board. I really hope he sticks around and they record some new tunes.

"Been a long time..."
"Been lost in the headlights... all night long."
Honestly, I've been very busy with my Black Crowes tribute duo, Perfume and Valium.
That Been a Long Time opener in Denver is super tight. They need to get into the studio pronto.

I remember thinking how much jackie Greene elevated the band, when compared to luther, and it really shows on this boot. So excellent.

they've started putting up archived 96-97 shows again on liveblackcrowes.com, I might put 96-97 era Crowes up against any other period of any other band in a live setting...the four shows they've put up thus far all fucking SMOKE
fucking untouchable, god I miss THAT band

This is a pretty big call.

Yeah, that might be stretching it, but I saw them in '96 and they killed it. My favorite period was 1992. Caught two shows back-to-back on that tour that are probably on my top ten concerts of all time. Chris Robinson can still sing with the best of 'em, but he used to be a showman, too.

This would actually be really sad for me.
I'll actually respect them more...they probably should've stayed off the road last year
all I want now is a Lost Crowes Part Two of unreleased studio takes...Pastoral/Everybody Has Scars/Nothing Love Everything/Exit/Name Like Music/It Takes One to Know One/Magic Rooster Blues etc etc etc

I thought the shows with Jackie Greene were incredible. Better than most i saw with Luther.

I have a hard time believing they are done for good. I too thought Jackie was a great fit. I just can't imaging them never playing together again. I like what the CRB is doing but its not the same. They'll start to miss it at some point. Won't they?

Thanks for posting this. I've been meaning to get around to it for a while and finally found a couple of spare hours today. Actually, I wasn't planning to listen to the whole thing but it sucked me in. Fantastic interview and definitely a must if you're a fan. Explains a lot, including addressing my observation above about how Chris was once a frontman extraordinaire who decided early on to just stand there and sing (instead of putting on a
show). I enjoy both iterations (and the dude's got such an amazing voice that he can just stand there and sing and I'm good with that) but those early tours were special. Anyway, great interview. Actually, I thought the interviewer was awful, but Gorman brought the goods in a big way.
