These were my first and second thoughts too.

I can do without the boxes.

But for the love be of God, please release a '96 show through the vault this year. It only makes sense.

why the fuck would you remaster albums from 1996 and 1998? you're only going to go backwards.

Because if you do nothing at all your fans will grumble, but you don't want to put in the effort to make box sets of records you're embarrassed by?

It sure is weird how this band will totally buy into a version of their story that not even the press pushes anymore (the "two and a half good records" line), but never wonder why those songs seem to get just as good a reaction in concert as anything.

surely no fan is excited by remasters of no code and yield, only that they are avail on vinyl.

Weird? For this band?
On the other hand they don't have an alternative story from the press to buy as the current consensus seems to be that their catalogue as a whole is relatively uninteresting but they excel at presenting it live.

At least they got to a point when they make music they can be are proud of.

The records are up for preorder on Amazon btw.

The promo blurb via someone's post at the Pit:
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of No Code, Pearl Jam reissues No Code on 150-gram vinyl. This is the first time the album has been available on the format since its original release and the first time the album is being mastered specifically for vinyl, by Grammy Award-winning engineer Bob Ludwig. It features recreations of their original packaging, including the set of nine random replica Polaroids/lyric cards.
In any case, it almost certainly won't be any better than the original (and still in print) CD.

I've got to agree with WtoB?. Remastering is going to have, at best, a negligible effect. I'd rather have had an anniversary reissue with new artwork or extra tracks or a show on vinyl or a DVD or y'know ... anything.

A Super Deluxe, that's what I want. A Super Deluxe boxed set.

By the way, those singles would have been awesome for Record Store Day.

I have no interest in these albums being reissued
in any capacity. Just put a few Irons shows out as Vault releases and I'll be good.

Well, with shipping, that's almost where they are, but I've yet to be gouged on RSD.

I feel like this news isn't exciting enough to warrant an exclamation mark in the thread title. It is really bothering me.

I'm not interested in this vinyl at all. I'd much rather have had the Deluxe treatment on these with a good show or two from the era released with the set.

Yeah, and Ed also re-recorded all the vocals.
