According to one of the interviews I read after the LB release, even Stone was shocked that song made the record. The way he said it seemed like he had no idea what songs were on the record until after it was released
I always thought it was a riff he was just warming up with and it became a song. He was surprised that BOb jumped on it and sort of blagged it.

I have nothing to back this up.
Ohhh. Maybe it was me that was shocked it made the album

Me and Stone have one thing in common.
We don't care about Pearl Jam anymore

EASY LEFT ME A LONG TIME AGOOOOO

So "dark".

So "moody".
Oh man, I still think it's one of the few highlights from LB. Jeff does a nice job throughout, with a really nice pattern on bass. Outside of some questionable lyrics, what don't you like about it?

I like stone as a writer! I just dont think he's a great live guitar player, ive heard a lot of sloppy boots, I wish i had examples to point to.

Then again I used to think the same of Mike considering how many awful versions of Yellow Ledbetter I've heard on boots, but seeing him live recently he tore the house down I dunno.

But yeah, Ive just heard some weak guitar playing from the band occasionally, whether its stone or mike, often on songs like Elderly woman, NAIS, and things like that, its just clunky.

"Stone" is a really stupid name for a child.

He should've named his children Pebble and Sand.

I can't remember how/when/why that surfaced but it seems to have disappeared into the aether.
Don't know it, would love to see it.
This is going to drive me nuts.

My (admittedly somewhat unreliable) recollection is that it's only a few seconds long and involves Stone commenting in a stoned drawl that something is "so...fucking...funny".
I remember that clip as well. If my memory serves me (eh), it was a brief clip of them sitting on a tour bus together and Ed flung some ice cream from a spoon towards Stone. Stone's response was characteristically sarcastic -- "Oh, that's so fucking funny..." He didn't seemed particularly baked in this instance, though. But then again, ice cream.

The other dudes were cracking up and Ed had a satisfied grin on his face. I'd love to see that video again.

I don't know why this was never released on Bayleaf.... it is perfect Stone goodness and that guitar outro is so tasty!

I think "Shame on You" is one of the very best songs Stone has written.
