Agreed. That was a great show and I think it pushes the boundary of what a live act can do. The whole set is one long narrative that's both poignant and funny.ThumbingMyWayToNFLD wrote:I watched Mike Birbiglia's "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" recently and thought it was incredible. Really heartfelt at times.
I'm like 50/50 on him. Some of his stuff is really funny, but some of his stuff flirts with being annoying/odious. He also gets into some liberal political pandering, which I fucking HATE in stand-up.dimejinky99 wrote:Jim Jeffries (genius) has a new stand up show..all of it to be seen here

Carlin was a blowhard. I get irritated by comics who have that "let me tell you how things are" approach. Same with Bill Hicks.Orpheus wrote:I actually much prefer Richard Pryor to Carlin. Carlin is great but he can be really annoying sometimes.
I feel like Carlin is also responsible for the legion of nerds who have to correct everything and don't understand basic absurd humor. I hate people like that.bart wrote:Carlin was a blowhard.
