I said the exact same this morning. And agree with all who said they love what they're doing with the girl in this.
Have to admit I didn't even know they were making another standalone Wolverine movie until the first trailer came out. Now this movie has rocketed to my most anticipated comic book release this year...and it comes out in a little over a month!

little known fact, the first time Wolverine appeared in a cartoon, he did indeed have an Australian accent.
actually it was even before this. Spiderman and his Amazing Friends. a firestar is born

The villain in this looks so lame. I hope there's more to him than the trailers indicate, which so far seems to be just another in a line of "evil scientist dudes experimenting on mutants".

Yep. They've pretty much just substituted the Reavers for the hillbilly Hulks from the Old Man Logan storyline.

the reavers are these guys and gal
pretty boy, lady deathstrike, skull buster, bone breaker, cole, macon and reese along with donald pierce (the guy you are questioning)
each has a reason for hating wolverine.
lady deathstirke (though not in the movie) - her fathers process was stolen and used to bond the adamantium to logan
pretty boy, skull buster, bone breaker - a group of cyborgs who resided in the aussie outback that used a teleporter (gateway) to rob places through out the world. wolverine and the x-men stopped them
cole, macon and reese - members of the hellfire clubs elite guard whom wolverine injured back in the dark phoneix saga
Pierce is a cyborg who despises mutants
later on pierce brings them all together to attack the xmen and ends up only finding wolverine and defeating him
Donald Pierce first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #132. He was created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. Pierce’s name and appearance were modeled by Byrne upon Donald Sutherland. The last name comes from Sutherland's character from the 1970 movie M*A*S*H, Hawkeye Pierce.[1] Fictional character biography
Donald Pierce was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pierce first appears as a high-ranking member of the Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club, where he holds the position of White Bishop. However, Pierce is in fact a genocidal mutant hater, and has only joined the Club in order to kill the other members of the Inner Circle, all of whom are mutants.[2] In addition to hating mutants, Pierce is also bigoted towards certain nationalities and harbors a sense of self-loathing due to his being a cyborg, referring to himself as "only half a man".[3] He is the CEO and principal shareholder of Pierce-Consolidated Mining, and operates out of a mining and laboratory complex in Cameron, Kentucky.

Got tickets for a preview of this on Monday. I have no investment in this franchise I don't even know what this is about.
