Now some might say I’m a fool to celebrate this because all it means is the CC company has raped me all these years but I have never paid a penny in interest or annual fee so I’m feeling pretty good about this.
Credit card companies charge two ways - interest to cardholders is one. The other is a fee at point of sale to merchants, who inevitably pass it on to the consumer. Enjoy those miles, we have earned them!
The only example I can think of are some gas stations that have a slightly lower price if you pay cash. Oh and then on the rare occasion there is a service fee that is disclosed, like on a paypal transaction or something. In my experience I think it’s always disclosed that there will be extra fee if you pay with CC.

But normally? Like a grocery store, restaurant, Amazon.com purchase - really?
Yes, absolutely. It's between 1-4 percent based on what the company has been able to negotiate.

Well if the cash price is gonna be the same (like at the grocery store) I’m sleeping just fine at night.

There are several coffee shops around us that charge less when you pay cash. I love paying cash to begin with, it’s my payment of preference when possible. Especially for small local businesses where credit card charges can break them (who gives a shit about using a CC at Target). I get it’s inconvenience and loss possibility, but if more stores offered me an extra 3% discount off my total if I paid cash, I’d be walking around with a George costanza wallet.

You can take this to the bank:

At least once on this tour when playing CDM, Ed will sing “Can’t Deny Heat”

It’s going to happen.

Is there anything semi-legit for the Pacific Northwest in the Fall, and if so what venue? (with Key Arena being under construction)
