And hey it doesn't fade out, it actually ends.
With Eddie's pronounciation, he can make both words sound the same.Jaeti wrote:If the lyric is, "Expecting perfection leaves a lot to ignore," then I like it. If it's "Expecting perfection leaves a lot to endure," then I love it.

And possibly someone who currently lives in a large white house.Clem Halibut wrote:So is it officially "file things" I'm hearing "fire things"
Fire things would seem to be a poke at men wanting fire things ...aka guns
That seems like a topic for another song.Clem Halibut wrote:seem to be a poke at men wanting fire things ...aka guns
pretty sure it's both.Jaeti wrote:If the lyric is, "Expecting perfection leaves a lot to ignore," then I like it. If it's "Expecting perfection leaves a lot to endure," then I love it.
This is pretty much impossible to answer, but I think I would. This song really hits on a lot of things musically that I've really been digging lately.mikejasond wrote:Here’s a question

McParadigm wrote:The whole end lyrical loop seems to be about juxtaposing the freeness and motion of a connection to the natural universe with the rigidity and soullessness of material drive. Dancing, like clairvoyants of the world that is, in a trance....versus builders of a world that can never fully be. Of a life founded on petty wants. A bigger dick, metaphorically or not. The inherent sense of control that comes from fixing things to be the way you want them, and filing and organizing the world you inhabit. I don’t know that the gendering of these approaches is necessarily *about* gender, or more just personifying the two ways of living in the world.
The end of the video suggests it might be ‘fire things’:Clem Halibut wrote:So is it officially "file things" I'm hearing "fire things"

The lyrics are from Apple Music. The song is also credited to all five members.Monkey_Driven wrote:That works too. I can see that.Pearlhawk wrote:I hear “their dicks inside of things”.stip wrote:this sounds plausible (surprised about the dicks line). source?Owl wrote:Dance of the Clairvoyants:
Confusion is to commotion
What love is, to our devotion
Imperceptibly big, as big as the ocean?
And equally hard to control
So save your predictions
And burn your assumptions
Love is friction
Ripe for comfort
Endless equations
In tugging persuasions
Doors open up
To interpretation
Expecting perfection leaves a lot to ignore
and the past is the present and the future's no more
When every tomorrow is the same as before
The looser things get, the tighter they become
The looser things get tighter
Not one man can be greater than the sum
It's like a negative thought, I’m positive.
Positive, positive.
Fallin down, not staying down
Coulda help me up, brother, tear me down
Drown in the river
Expecting perfection leaves a lot to ignore
when the past is the present and the future's no more
Numbers keep fallin’ off the calendar's floor
We're stuck in our boxes, windows no more.
Collecting up the forget-me-nots,
Not recalling what they’re for
I'm in love with clairvoyants ‘cause they're out of this world
I know the girls wanna dance
away their circumstance
I know the boys wanna grow
I know the girls wanna dance
Clairvoyants in a trance
I know the boys wanna grow
Their dicks and file things
Stand back back when the spirit comes X2
Stand back
Stand back back when the spirit comes X3
Stand back
I know the girls wanna dance
away their circumstance
I know the boys wanna grow
Their dicks and file things
Stand back when the spirit comes x3
Some of them are definitely wrong. It definitely sounds like "It's not a negative thought or positive" . The second chorus says "endure" not "ignore". I think it's "on" the calendar's floor, not off, but I could be wrong on that one. The first two have to be wrong in the lyrics posted though.Owl wrote:The lyrics are from Apple Music.
