this is my current question
It's only 6:30 in Seattle.
Surely this is done by software and most of the staff are probably in Ontario.

I'm quite surprised that 10C tickets weren't exhausted after 1st, 2nd and 3rd preferences were all distributed. I wonder if that means they secured a pretty huge allocation there.
I have no idea how any of it works. Just happy to get tickets to the show I wanted the most
4000 10C tix for each Philly.

Once upon a time, this is exactly how it was done. We were all mailed via snail mail a listing...we selected tickets...and then we got them. Sometimes, personalized nicely embossed tix with our names on them....

Distributors and promoters didn't care about money then though, right?
Were you guaranteed tickets then or was the fan club just small enough to accommodate all the members that wanted tickets to a show? I don't think they've ever had access to 100% of the tickets in a venue.
It was an order form. No lotto. Think they didn't take CC, just US postal money orders I believe. Individual money orders for each concert I think I mailed. But there was no limit on how many shows you could get pairs of tix to.

What the fuck? How the fuck does this shit work? My brain is too tiny.
That's a good point; I assume if you don't get 1st choice your 2nd becomes your first.

But assuming anything w/ the 10 Club is a really dumb move.

I think it's sort of irrelevant. This system isn't really a "lottery" at all. It's a prioritized selection system. You have almost no chance of getting a 2nd choice, let alone a third choice unless you are in the South where demand is low and tickets don't sell out anyways.

This greatly improves my 1-9 record in the lotto:

Choices results
1.) balt res Won
2.) charlottesville res Won
3.) hartford res Lost
4.) philly 2 res Won
5.) philly 1 res Lost

Number 4 is a fucking shocker.

They have said this is not the case. Second choices are for "leftovers from first choice pools" and are completely independent the results of first choices.

Was there a single tour besides 2003 where this is the way they did it? 2000 was still one show per tour. By 2004 it was online.

Hence, it's not really a lottery at all. It's only a lottery for the people that are in the pool after all the other 1st choice tix have been allocated, if there are any at all that remain. Seems like a shitty system to me.

It doesn't work that way, see my posts in this thread. You have the best chance at your first preference. After that, your odds diminish progressively as you're battling against everyone else who listed that choice as a higher priority than you.

Except that with f5 the last four tours I could get tickets to both (or even all 4!) Philly shows. I had zero chance of that this time, as the lottery only allows for 1 set per city. So we're definitely getting less for more money.
Isn't it more fair to limit the amount of shows you can go to if that means less people end up going to 0 shows?
Stop making sense. It's better for ME the old system; I don't care what's most fair and efficient for everyone else!

1996 and 1998 I believe.

1994 I could only go to one show but I think it was the same thing. Some of the older posters might be able to help out with how they've changed it.

I believe there was a mailing in 94 that said something like "Pearl Jam is coming near you... as a member of TC you have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the show...."

Again, I think the new system makes sense, particularly if a wider distribution was what they wanted to achieve. I'm relatively indifferent either way as I probably won't ever use it.

I just keep responding as there's a lot of confusion about how the priority system works.

Their intent is for everyone to get at least 1 pair. They are fucking morons (definitely possible) if some 1st round people are shut out and don't get priority on their 2nd choice, especially in the same city.

2. I got fan club in chicago and alpine and guest list for Detroit :finger:
