Must be at least somewhat of a big name otherwise why bother with the grand reveal?
Hard to say. Given its Pearl Jam, it’s more likely some medium level name that you probably don’t know but everyone is suddenly an expert on in the 15 minutes after they announce?

Replying to a fan’s Instagram question earlier this week about if he (Krusen) was “coming back,” he replied, “no, they have a new drummer already.”
Can we assume he auditioned and didn’t get the job? How else would he know they had a new drummer prior to Stone’s announcement?
Perhaps they told him so he stops pestering them about it.

Maybe it is Krusen and he's lying to protect the secret.

The new drummer is Boom’s home health aide.

A friend of mine, big Umphrey’s McGee fan - said he heard rumors that Kris Myers may be the new drummer. Anyone else heard something like that?

No, but that’s who I’ve been hoping for.

I'm now leaning towards it being someone relatively unknown.

Stone's only buying time of course. We'll know more in July. Matt Chamberlain drummed on The Format's first new album in 20 years. The Format are playing earlier in the day at Ohana Festival same day as PJ. The Format toured with another drummer Will Noon, but he's favored to be a permanent member of Taking Back Sunday.[1] Chamberlain is using The Format as a warmup to PJ that night. This as alittle tease as they like to do ("Amanda Reckonwith" anyone?)
So the Format's first show is in July and we'll know who's really drumming for them at that time is all I'm saying.

Isn’t it safe to say that it’ll be someone from Seattle?
They have a new album to work on and a lot of songs to rehearse for the next tour.
My theory is that they still haven’t decided who’s going to replace Matt. They may have simply informed Krusen that it wouldn’t be him - my guess the reason is that they don’t want to be seen as a nostalgic act.
In the new interview with Jonathan Cohen, Stone never actually said they already have a drummer. He said, “Nobody knows who’s going to play drums at the Ohana Festival — it’s a mystery wrapped in an enigma.” When Cohen then asked if he could somehow encourage him to say something more, and Stone replied: “No, we’ve committed, and whatever it is, we’re gonna be there and give you a show.”, which to me sounds like “Even if we don’t have a permanent drummer by September, we still have Josh to save the day.”
Mike said two weeks ago that he was frustrated they still didn’t have a drummer and that they are in their slow phase, so it almost seems impossible that they suddenly made a decision within a week.

Bammer’s in Seattle, owns a MC kit, and hasn’t been posting much lately…

I’ve visited Seattle a couple times for work, have a pint sized kids drum set in the basement, and haven’t posted anything of quality lately. It me.
