It's a great record.
And I was gonna say before very long we'll see people say they love it.
Looks like that's kicking off already.

If 3 more deluded Pearl Jam fans say its good then Backspacer officially becomes a reappraised work of misunderstood genius.

Half of it still does little for me, but there is some good stuff.

The songs do work well in a live setting. I just wish we'd get a new version of JG to fit in with Brett Eliason coming back to the bootlegs. GSMF kicks ass on the Vancouver '13 show! I got to see The Fixer and that was a blast.

The Fixer live is great...but i just love the studio version. The playfulness, the groove, those guitars and the bridge...Maybe if ed´s voice was more in the vein of SW or LB it could be better.

And yeah, i kinda hate the fade out too.

I could leave the first half, but the second half of that song is great.

*edit: it's really just the first verse that kinda bores me. The rest is fuckin great.

Shit. That was pretty good.

The music was especially good. On this listen I was getting a kind of "In Hiding" vibe, and even Ed's vocals seemed to sound almost Yield-ish. The lyrics didn't bug me as much as I expected, the verses I actually quite a bit. "I can feel like I Have a soul that has been saved," has never struck me as gloomy as it did this time. I'm pretty excited to start enjoying Amongst the Waves.

This is exciting. I've always felt like AtW was a very Yield sounding song. Somewhere in between Given to Fly and In Hiding. I've always loved it.
