I love Dany so much!

Do we think that Dany telling Sansa that her coming north was for love has some eerie, dangerous connotations considering that we're reminded about what Jaime did for love in the same episode?

Correction: it shouldn't.

But because the writers/show runners are tone def and inherently misogynistic, there is the chance that you're on to something. But, no, that should not be an aspect of the show at all. The books, the story, everything has set up one thing and that ain't it.

My one big fear remaining in the show is that the writers will force an unearned ending and change course. I really fear that the'll ignore their characters and their characters logic and write around them instead of in service of them.

Also, my favorite connection to the past in the most recent episode that no one has mentioned is how Bran's revelation that his function is--more or less--to hold onto story and memory to keep humanity alive no matter what traces back to Bran and Nan's conversation in Season 1, Episode 3.

"I hate your stories." / "I know a story about a boy who hated stories."

Bran's arc, however it concludes this season, is going to be the culmination of a long thread that started with a boy who hated stories who ended up being a being that exists for the sole purpose of retaining stories (he's Old Nan minus the knitting). And in that very same scene she describes the Long Night and the arrival of the White Walkers, which is about to come to a head just as we learn of Bran's true function as a story-keeper. In summation: give me those damn ice spiders!

There can’t be a happy ending almost of any kind.
It wouldn’t follow the entire path of the series.

At best we can hope for a WTAF ending for it to remain true to itself.
And leave it there.

No matter whose arse sits on that throne or is left standing to melt it down is going to leave us disappointed.

If we lost half of our central characters in the next episode, and then half of that half when whatever happens between the northern alliance and the Lannister forces happens, and Dany gets to sit on the Iron Throne or Jon leads a democratic revolution of whatever...I don't know if I'd call that "happy."

None of it will be happy.

But I can’t see Jon or Dany getting the throne. This isn’t how this show works.
It’s an endless parade of people who shouldn’t be there and have come by it through underhanded means, sittin on that throne.

This will either break that wheel and give us a deserving rightful occupant or will stay true to form and it’ll be someone Ill fitting and undeserving

perhaps this is a good time to remind everyone again that the show is not an adaptation of the books but rather merely based on the books. the show runners aren’t wedded to anything.
