was he ever

It's weird to announce him in the official press stuff if not.

Like typing right now and thinking about it again, I'm getting misty eyed. I fucking loved that moment so much. I really thought it would be like the ONE unifying thing about the movie.
Lol

Did you see any of the "outrage" about him "lying" to the press? I posted about it like months and months ago. Hilarious.

At least in this one everyone else without jedi powers was as useless as he was. He's finally on par with everyone else.
It's probably inevitable with sequels, but at this point jedi/sith are comic superheroes and everyone else is just there for the ride.

recall something about that. fanboys are weird. my oncologist asked me yesterday if I was part of the SW "cult" because I had an ugly sweater on with Darth Vader. That was his word too, called a few other fandoms cults and said SW was the worst.
he's not wrong.

There is a light side to all of it though, too. There are plenty of fans out there who love this thing for what it is -- warts and all -- and enjoy sharing their own joy with others. We can call that a cult but it's just a community.

The acting in this movie is absurdly great. It's easily the best acted Star Wars film to date. Everyone brings their A game.

As others have said, it's not a perfect movie. But none of the SW films are. But this a powerful, meaningful, EARNED, emotionally satisfying ending.
I know over time more and more will reveal itself. I will find some things completely stupid. I'll find new things to like and new things to roll my eyes at. But I am so happy I had the first viewing experience that I had. It was a lovely send off. And I can say without irony or regret that the Sequel Trilogy of the Skywalker Saga is easily my favorite Star Wars.
Rey is a wonderful character that I connect to and relate to on so many levels. Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is the perfect villain of the modern era. Poe and Finn are such a joy to watch. The themes set up in TFA and TLJ are expanded on and wrapped up. Again, not perfectly, but in satisfying ways.
I imagine that I'll revisit these three films far more than any other Star Wars films going forward. I like it all. I love these final three.

This is the best of the three sequels. I think it was even better the second time around.
