So, Pelosi got a San Francisco salon to open up against rules so she could get her hair done. Not to defend her, but I loved this quote from the owner.
“I was like, are you kidding me right now? Do I let this happen? What do I do?” Kious told Fox News, while noting that she "can’t control” what her stylists do if they rent chairs from her, as “they’re not paying” at this time.
Apparently the answer to "Do I let this happen? What do I do?" is Yes, then send security video to Fox News and interview with them about how awful Pelosi is b/c I opened up my salon.

A small business will not turn away business from a Pelosi. There is a huge power imbalance and to blame the small business owner is being blind to all the conversations had regarding power imbalances.

Pelosi shouild be raked over the coals for this.

Well, like I said, I don't defend Pelosi, but I feel like I could say no to a national lawmaker who wanted me to do something that I found immoral. I could at least say, "I'm sorry, Representative, but I'm not legal allowed to provide hair care services."

If I couldn't, I'd keep my mouth shut.

That, of course, assumes that Pelosi didn't take the unlikely step of threatening me, but if she did, then I would tell THAT story to Fox News.

A salon owner, who is legally prohibited to open her salon 'narced' on Pelosi, after one of her stylists she would otherwise rent a chair to, opened the salon to provide a service to Pelosi. Stylist should have paid her off and charged Pelosi accordingly.

Why are you tying the legal to the moral so closely? Its moral for a sylist to take a payment to support them and their family. Its not legal for Pelosi or the stylist to do this, but immoral?

Rough spot to be in, public health these days...

Bad response from Pelosi and bad judgement in the first place.

Why not hire a hair stylist to come to your house or office?

Its interesting to hear about the different areas and what businesses can and cannot operate.

Salons are welcome to be open here but masks have to be worn. Gym's can be open but at minimum capacity and masks must be worn.

I know I live in a bubble (even though we were an early hotspot in the country) but i think its time to let all these businesses open up with proper care and protocol for gods sake.

Our Governor's Republican challenger says we're the last state to allow gyms to open. I don't know if that's right or not, but they open here on Friday (bowling alleys also count as gyms).

The stuff that will still be closed in NC is:

- Bars/Night Clubs
- Amusement Parks
- "Indoor Entertainment Facilities"
- Movie theaters

Our area is pretty Covid free and has been for some time. Tonight I found myself at the casino amongst the great unwashed. I grabbed a beer, looked around and me and the wife both just noped right out.

I tell you, if there's Corona in Perth it's in this bloody place right here.

Ok, sure, but my point is that we are terribly nonchalant about exposing college kids to a disease we don’t yet know the full ramifications of...even for entirely asymptomatic people.
