The vast majority of PJ fans don't give a crap about anything written after 1994, if that.
You're right. I even acknowledged it then forgot.theplatypus wrote:Guys, pay attention. It was lecherouslittlestump who posted that.harmless wrote:Are we sure Cold Concession became Pendulum? This could be big news, team.Buby wrote:broken iris wrote:So

Sure sounds like it, no?
Unfortunately this is true.digster wrote:The vast majority of PJ fans don't give a crap about anything written after 1994, if that.

No, my point is I dont care what "Pearl Jam fans" think of what good song writing is or how they feel about MC's songs. They are idiots.

I hate to point out the obvious, your a PJ fan.
But, once again, PJ fans would vote against your love of evacuation and Matt's songwriting. You probably think Heyfoxymophandlemamma had a lot of potential as a single too, right?
Maybe it was Matt's idea to sign the distribution deal with Target.harmless wrote:You think Matt's drumming has ruined PJ. That's a pretty massive divergence from 'most PJ fans'.
Didn't you know? Matt fired Dave A for his love of fame and money.Monkey_Driven wrote:Maybe it was Matt's idea to sign the distribution deal with Target.harmless wrote:You think Matt's drumming has ruined PJ. That's a pretty massive divergence from 'most PJ fans'.
there were some. they are quoted a few pages backsouthp wrote:Been offline since yesterday afternoon... I caught some of the fan reviews, but were there any comments from BoB that are floating around?

IDK if I'd go that far, but I think it all boils down to this: I liked PJ the best when it had the Eddie that wrote 'Dead Man' and not the one that wrote JB/TE/SBM/FD, etc.Monkey_Driven wrote:Unfortunately this is true.digster wrote:The vast majority of PJ fans don't give a crap about anything written after 1994, if that.
Here's what the advantage of time brings. Sometimes, because earlier listens didn't bring instant excitement or very little growth based on a few subsequent listens, I'll put a song aside and forget to go back to them. Thank you Sir Mike for mentioning In The Moonlight. Based on your above quote, I put on all three in a row and have found that after initially having little taste for In The Moonlight, I quite enjoyed it. (Side note: Always loved Cropduster. Evacuation is a depends on my mood sort of song.)Mike wrote:I would never ever argue that the heavy majority of PJ likes these songs. I'm just speaking from my point of view and I couldn't care less about the majority of Pearl Jam fans. Most of them probably don't think Evacuation and Cropduster are wonderful, I agree. I still think they are.IlluminEddie wrote:I get that you disagree and enjoy these song (to each his own), but saying the heavy majority of PJ fans like these songs is hysterical. These songs suck (my take). .Mike wrote:Matt's songwriting gets the band out of their comfort zone in the best way possible. Evacuation, In The Moonlight and Cropduster are just wonderful pieces of music. Eddie always comes up with really interesting vocal melodies in Matts songs.
That's a separate argument.harmless wrote:You think Matt's drumming has ruined PJ. That's a pretty massive divergence from 'most PJ fans'.

i wasn't a big fan of matt's writing until backspacer, but I think he writes interesting songs that just don't often play to what I see as the band's strengths.Mike wrote:Matt's songwriting gets the band out of their comfort zone in the best way possible.
