I thought Vail was Summit County until you posted and I looked it up. Do you guys have 10% sales tax, too? Or whatever insane amount it is in Summit...

Do the ski resorts there host mountain biking when there's no snow? That's what our local ski resort does to insure against bad winters.

Yeah I just booked a condo for January and was talking to the owner and that's what he was saying. I've done enough worrying about this election, I'm just going to trust that by mid-January conditions will be good....or really I'll wait until like mid-December to really start worrying.

No, not really. Though there are still plenty of trails that are ridable outside of the resort mountain. Ultimately it will snow considerably by end of December but it may just be a terrible opening. They were making snow this morning but I can't imagine it will hold. A couple mountains are already open, funny enough.
