dishwasher wont drain. does not appear to be any clog in the palces that i can check.

Do i have to call a professional?

water backing up anywhere else? might be a main line issue

unless you have a mechanized 200ft augur you'll have to call someone

No water backup issues elsewhere.

just this morning i was thinking... when we bought our house 6 years ago, the inspector told us we needed to change the hot water heater ASAP. after moving in, i checked the serial number, and it was about 12 years old, which sure, i guess is probably getting up there. put it off bc i didn't have the extra $1000 to get a new one. and 6 years later, it's still going strong. wtf?

i did this too last year when i had the same problem. nothing worked so i paid a guy a couple hundred and now it works

I watched a few as well. Most of those videos are workign with removing all parts and making sure there is no clog. ive done most of that and haven't seen anything.

yeah this can be a main cause, if you have a GD (lol) your dishwasher probably drains into/through it. Start there.
