If Glennon's good enough, then I think the Bucs would be crazy to trade him for peanuts. Ask the Cowboys about the value of a good backup QB. Keep him, force the Cards or whoever to pay him a good amount as a UFA in 2017, and take a compensatory pick from it if you can.

I could see Glennon succeeding in Houston. I'll be rooting for him whatever happens to him, I like that guy.

The Cards would probably offer more than "peanuts." I'm guessing they'd give up two picks (2nd and 5th?) for him.

I think Houston will get Hackenburg somewhere late in the draft and develop him. I doubt the Bucs will trade Glennon unless they get at least a 2nd rounder. He's still a good cheap backup if I'm correct, and he definitely fits Koetter.


The other thing, I think the Bucs have about 50 million to spend, and they have to spend a great deal of it due to league rules, so why not keep Glennon?

Yeah and the thing about it is, there are many teams that need QB's this year and some that have aging QB's with one or two more years. The position is way overvalued right now so I expect the Bucs could get something pretty substantial for Glennon. There aren't many NFL-ready QBs in the draft this year.

His contract is up next year. Why not get a draft pick or two for him? He certainly won't stay with Tampa if he feels he can go somewhere else next year and start.

If they're giving up that much, then a contract extension to go along with it is a must.

I didn't realize this was his last year in that case, yeah, absolutely, probably wouldn't happen until around draft time but yes, that makes a lot of sense.

It would be so nice to be able to trade him for anything between a 2nd to 5th round pick.

the Bucs used a roster spot in all 16 games this year for Ryan Griffin apparently to keep him off the practice squad because they were afraid he would get snatched up by a different team. not sure if that was Lovie wanting to make sure he stayed with the Bucs or Dirk but i have a feeling he is their plan for future back up and if someone wants to give a decent amount then i think this is finally the year they deal Glennon

I guess I'm glad he's coming back just for the consistency on offense for Jameis Winston. But I really like Sims and would like to see him more involved as he has much better hands than Martin does.

Yeah, you can ironically blame BSU for that--Kellen Moore was so awesome there that they didn't need a RB that could catch well.

I'm more worried about Mike Evans' catching abilities. He led the league in drops last year and single-handedly cost the Bucs a game because of that. I hope he's working on that this summer.

I didnt get to follow twitter much today so at around 3 when i heard sarah spain say that a team actually signed grimes after talking about how bat shit crazy his wife is i was pretty shocked to hear it was the bucs, i hope he can be a good player for us but damn i hope his wife shuts the hell up lol
