Then maybe Amongst the Waves, Unthought Known, and Speed of Sound...but I do like Got Some

I really can't stand Got Some. It just really rubs me the wrong way. Amongst the Waves and Johnny Guitar are the two that I really like from Backspacer, the rest do nothing for me.

edit: Speed of Sound and Force of Nature are both okay, and Supersonic's bridge is probably my favorite moment on the album but the rest of the song is awful. Everything on this album is garbage.

Although Ed sounded bad, I really loved that first performance of Got Some on Conan, way before Backspacer was released. It sounded really heavy and raw. The album version and subsequent live versions (I think they lower the tuning) just didn't compare.

totally agree. eddie was kind of drowned out in the mix, and mike was more front and center, and he had some sick tone going on.

is that version floating around anywhere

Yeah.

Not because Ole is great, but because Got Some isn't even "deep cut" good. It's the worst track on an otherwise enjoyable-but-lightweight experiment, which only enjoys the most surfacy similarities to previous experiments, aesthetically.

Ole is like one of those Who singles that don't come anywhere close to the majestic material the band was producing beast-daily, but you totally get why it captured people as a novelty.

I really love the music on got some, but they are probably eddie's worst lyrics ever, and his performance is not good. I'm kinda stunned it made the album, especially surrounded by such vibrant and energetic performances on The Fixer and GSMF.

I love Got Some...everything about it. Yeah, maybe the lyrics are not quality material, but they are fine...but the music is great, Matt´s intro is awesome and i specially love Mike and Stone´s interaction.
