I always wondered about this phrase.
It is understandable to me why one would do something for giggles. It is less clear to me why someone would do something for shits, particularly if you take "shits" to mean "the shits," the lowbrow cultural euphemism to describe an uncontrollable onslaught of explosive bowel movements. To me it sounds like you're saying, "Thanks for posting that video, Kevin. I listened to it not only in hopes that it would provide me a small chuckle, but also that it might send me scurrying to the bathroom with some extremely uncomfortable diarrhea."
I would be curious to learn the origins of this particular quip.
I would be happy to indulge your curiosity. I'll have you know that I listened on my phone while on the toilet knowing that while I may giggle I could avoid the running to the bathroom by already being in position for the shits portion of it.

Humor is no excuse for poor grammar.

It's the same thing as the the tour announcement video. So... I'm guessing it's on the new album. And I kind of love it.

i'm guessing it is too. i can see where someone might describe it as "spin the black circle" if having to compare it to a past song

i'd compare it to Sirens if i had to compare it to a future song.

that sounds like the "chiming intro" someone mentioned. the rest of the song could be very different.

Sounds kinda 80s metal-ly to me.

Yeah I see that. Sounds like early Gn'R.

There is definitely something kinda "throwbacky" about it. Can't put my finger on it. It's just an intro. It's not much. But I do hope it's on the album somewhere. I'd like to hear more of it.

it really dictates a large chunk of what it'll be (obviously). does he go "gonna see my friend" or take it down a notch and go "hail hail" or take it down another notch and go "black red yellow"?

I would be very intrigued by the latter two approaches.
