Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

I like Arcade Fire, they're good, but they're overrated.

I'm nothing if not controversial and a master of provocation.

With the David Byrnes, The Clashes and the Bruce Springsteens of the world, of course.

Thanks.

Why, does "Emperor's new clothes" apply to them too?

Reflektor will not stand alongside the top 3 albums for each of those artists, for starters.

Look, I’m sure they’re very nice people, but on their fourth album, “Reflektor,” Arcade Fire still sound like gigantic dorks with boring sex lives.
Even if i like the album, i agree with this view.
there are a few cheap shots here, but most of them are clever
It’s an album with a song called “Porno” that you could play for your parents

More importantly, I think they're failing to live up to the expectations they set out for themselves. Reach exceeds grasp. And that's fine, I'm glad they're reaching.
What expectations have they set out for themselves? I'm genuinely not trying to be an ass, I'm curious.
Read my first post again. It's like latter-day Pearl Jam - will get better the more you try it.
I think some people will have that reaction, but others will be hooked straight away, as I have been so far. Time will tell how much I like this album, but like Pearl Jam, Arcade Fire's track record makes me feel this one deserves a chance.
it certainly does.

I think stip should say stuff like that and storm out of threads from now on.

Well Pitchfork really liked it. That should be enough for everyone.

I'm beginning to love this thing. Reflektor, Here Comes The Night Time, Normal Person, Joan Of Arc, Awful Sound, It's Never Over and Afterlife are all fantastic. The rest ranges from good to very good and some songs are still growing.

I'm not quite sure how you can so easily throw out these predictions... for starters. (I'd have to enjoy those artists to agree with you.)

-Harmless argues like a whiny little bitch, and once bested backpedals with terms such as "I wasn't trying to argue!"

-Jorge and Rafa are ballers.

-Stip must be feeling neglected because there is no other reason for such attention-whoring.
