Literally no independent voter or normally-non-voter is going to be nudged towards voting republican because they saw this stupid internet video. It's really condescending to think that any sane people are afraid that Liz Warren is going to push legislation outlawing "hey guys" or whatever.

Isn't the "this will make people will vote republican/democratic" thing played out and tired by now? What is the logical follow-up action that is suggested? No one running for election is making stupid videos about saying "hey guys" so they should stop making videos about saying "hey guys," I guess. Really practical advice.

Obviously groups like Hey Now! will promote one party over the other, so their bullshit will stick to the candidates whether they like it or not. Good practical advice would be to tell these groups to stop posting stupid shit if they want to win elections (though I don't think they are really that concerned with winning elections), or if they just want to stop looking like morons.

I don't know who Hey Now! is.

I don't think whoever posted this stupid video is running for an election, or associated with someone who is. I could be wrong. And no election in the country has any effect on how people greet each other, so it's only very very very loosely connected to politics - unless someone wants to be hamfisted and intentionally try to push it that way.

I'm extremely skeptical when someone supposedly speaks for "the center" when giving advice to one side or the other. And when some democrat/republican says "You republicans/democrats would win more elections if..." it's almost always bullshit.
