Playoffs after a 162 season are stupid. The cubs are your champions.
But hey, let's enjoy some best of sevens in cold weather played by athletes at the end of a 7 month death March of almost daily play and travel.

Even better: reducing a good team's season to a 'one game wildcard'.

I see you're already making excuses.

Not really. The cubs are going to win a world series within the next five years. I'm going to personally rub matt laments mascara painted face in it.

Actually agree with verb. Guy complains about everything but he's right here. MLB season is way too long and playoffs are laughably short in comparison. The best team does not nearly always win.
That said, go anyone but the Giants.

Sounds like you don't like baseball.

If my team could win a championship in any given sport, I'd go college football first, MLB second, and then whatever comes next is a pretty distant third. Probably college hoops next.

They should have just given the Mariners the championship in 01!

I don't remember or care who won the WS series that year. I do however remember that mariners team. What does that say about October?

That was the year of Schilling and Johnson. Good Series.

It's the Mariners' own damn fault for not getting to October enough. Give yourself enough chances and one of them will eventually stick, especially in baseball.

An entire 162 game season decided in a weak Luis Gonzalez single. Disgraceful.

That's basically what Theo's plan with the Cubs is.

The WS is just the WS. It doesn't delete the entire season. Relax. It's all just for fun and money.

Contend every year, make the postseason. Can't really ask for more than that.
HOWEVER - what would you take if you could only have one in your lifetime:
A. A championship amongst every other season of mediocrity, no other playoff appearances.
B. Continued run of pennant races, division titles and playoff appearances every season - always in it - but never win the 'ship.

B. Being hot for two weeks in October doesn't really mean anything. Smart people would realize that.
