The democratic process is about involvement. Come out and vote for Kanye if you want, but ffs vote.

It's condescending because it assumes that the black community hasn't thought about this. Maybe they haven't! But you can't know that, and it's equally likely that they look at Biden as another ineffective white asshole happy to do law and order in black neighborhoods if it'll get him reelected, and it's also equally likely that it has nothing to do with Joe Biden and everything to do with a real disillusionment with the "democratic process." I can't say. But I'm not going to say that it's prima facie evident that showing up is going to make things better for the black community in America, or at least, I'm not going to say that they're being ignorant for feeling differently about voting than I do.

Also fwiw I do recognize that this might be hard for an Australian to understand but "oh so you can protest but you can't vote" has some racist overtones in America.
