Side 5 of Exile could easily be Ballad In Urgency, Wiser Time, Descending, and I don’t think a single eyelash would be batted.

I wonder if "co-wrote" is just a formality and he gave Courtney the songs. He can be quite controlling.

I remember him bitching about being the writer of those, and then he was friends with Courtney again and never say anything more.

I get the sense that Corgan refined some ideas the band were already working on, though to what degree I'm not sure.

Pretty sure Eric Erlandson was always the primary writer of the music in Hole, I wonder if he finds it a drag that everyone thinks Courtney's partners did all the heavy lifting.

On a related point, I only recently learned that Hole had been rehearsing in late 2019, though I guess any concrete reunion plans they had probably got disrupted by what followed in the next few months.

Not sure how well Courtney's voice could withstand roaring through a bunch of the old songs at this point.

Anyway, here's the band (minus CL) playing a great version of Use Once and Destroy back in 2012:

CL is horrid live. I'm not sure if that's always been the case. Also, I thought MaDM was more focused on her art museum thing?
