Oh, gee, I dunno: good pitching, maybe?
So it's just that simple huh?
Yeah, it's as simple as acquiring young, talented players and and grooming them for years to be top-of-the-rotation guys.
The Boys of Winter should be able to push a few runs across the plate.

I'm tapping out after Bumgarner's snag. I hope they're in inning 25 when I wake up in the morning!

Tough loss, but I can't hate the Mets' year. Didn't look like they'd even get this far for a significant portion of the season. Time to start collecting donations to pay Cespedes.

Are these guys fucking serious? You can come off the bag but as long as you're "in the area"? WTF?

What did I miss? I was out for dinner and didn't sit down in front of the TV until buzzcut's dinger.

I'm worried because this line of conversation made me agree with Cal Ripken.

Chisenhall tried to stretch a single into a double, and he came up off the bag after sliding. Called out after a replay. The two goons in the booth both tried to argue that that's not "the spirit of replay" if you come an inch off the bag. Ripken was like, 'Uh, what's the reason for having a bag if you come off of it?'
