Re: What movies are you watching?
Gone with the Wind.
Family's away and with no plans until evening today's as good as any to watch it all the way through for the first time. It's like the Godfather in that I know the general story but to see as a whole piece it's quite good. It is long though and does bog down in the second half before picking up again. As a native Atlantan it's kind of my duty to see it at least once.
Of course watching it through 2015 eyes some scenes are pretty, well, not so politically correct to put it mildly. Maybe I'll make it a double feature with 12 Years a Slave.

It gets better every time I watch it. Just glorious movie making. One of my favorite films of any era.

I'm gonna get shot for this but I wanna ask
If they'd cast Bill Murray in Birdman instead of Keaton, would it have been one of the greatest films ever?

Re: What movies are you watching?
Yeah I definitely need to watch it again. I haven't seen a movie this good in a while. Kind of reminds me of Malick. I read somewhere that the budjet was 50k. If that's true, it's pretty amazing what he's been able to achieve with it.durdencommatyler wrote:contamination wrote:Upstream Color. Mesmerizing. Still trying to figure out what I just saw.![]()

I read his next will actually have a large budget and known stars. I'm curious to see what he turns out with money and celebrity. I don't know if I should be excited about it or not.
