you should care bout Stone´s releases Wease
I had never listened to this side project. Brittany Davis is the one playing that keyboard solo that was mentioned earlier. It’s KILLER. She also made that beautiful Present Tense cover a while back.
Looks like 3 albums for Painted Shield in the last 6 years so actually, Pearl Jam is the side project.
Thank you for mentioning the PT cover- first time hearing it and WOW!Matters wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 10:51 pmI had never listened to this side project. This has definitely addressed my reservations - great to know that he's a proactive part of the creative process rather than just an arse on a drum stool in the studio.joostone wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 5:15 pmWell, he has a couple of his own bands or records. He and Stone wrote most of the songs on that first Painted Shield album.igotworms wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 10:07 am My only misgiving with Chamberlain would be that I'm not sure he'd bring a new ingredient to the band. I might be doing him a disservice but I don't think he's going to steer the band into trying new sounds and songs in the way that Cameron or Irons did.
Matt Chamberlain wrote all the music on this song for instance:
Yeah, his own solo work is as idiosyncratic as the solo stuff from Jack Irons: https://mattchamberlain1.bandcamp.com/
He can also really lock into a groove with Stone, and that what excites me the most cause Matt Cam never really grooved with Stone in the same way Jack or Dave did.
Start selling plasma now just in case.LoathedVermin72 wrote: Sat May 30, 2026 11:08 pm If Irons came back I might consider actually trying to go to a show (but I probably still wouldn’t go)
Yeah, it's great! I like 'I Should Be Outside' too. Oh fun fact.. Matt Chamberlain is on that record too, Jeff asked him to drum on a couple of tracks. Like this one:Got Some wrote: Sun May 31, 2026 8:19 am Jeff Aments Heaven/Hell is my fav solo album by any of the band members.
Continuing a theme, Chamberlain plays drums on some of that record too.
Obviously everyone in the band gets along with him except Eddie.Birds in Hell wrote: Sun May 31, 2026 11:44 amContinuing a theme, Chamberlain plays drums on some of that record too.
