So ive been reading books on my phone a lot lately, especially at bedtime, and my eyes are really starting to feel it.
Probably time to get a kindle.
Or some physical books.

I'm reading The Cuckoo's Calling by JK Rowling Robert Galbraith.

I like it so far. Certainly not groundbreaking or anything. But a fun little mystery novel. I'm taking it (and it's sequel) to Mexico for some sunny beach reading. Perfect book for such an occasion.

Weirdly, I like Train Dreams better, but yeah, JS kills.

It's alright. I also have "Tree of Smoke" on my Kindle, but I just read two Franzen novels, so I dunno if I'm ready for another slog. But it's nice to read something shorter.

P.S. "Train Dreams" 4 lyfe

Jesus' Son was good; nice, concise bursts of pain, contcontemplation that paints a familiar yet ugly world. Or something like that. I had a hard time getting too into it--novels are just ny bag now, and it's tough getting wrapped up in short fiction.

A Visit From the Goon Squad is next.

The only one of his that I ever read was The Yiddish Policeman's Union, which was ok but not great. This one appears to be taking tbe same path.

kavalier and clay is his best work, but i really enjoyed yiddish policeman's union (maybe because i'm one of the few who read it before i did kavalier and clay)

wonder boys is worth a read too

I've already read 6 books this year; I only read 22 last year :-o (down from a high 63 in 2010, the year I started my PhD work)

Next? Um...I dunno, something semi-short? Mao II by Don Delillo, I think.
