I don't see how they follow that up.

Walt is going after the brotherhood now, I guess. He'll obviously cross paths with Pinkman again, but how does this build towards a dramatic payoff to close out the last two episodes that would top the last two weeks?

I have no idea, and I've completely given up speculation with this show.

I'm reeling from this episode. Too many gut punches.

My friend is trying to convince me Walt is going to kill Skyler and Walt Jr. I don't buy that, this thing deserves a more interesting ending than Walt White 'Breaks Benoit'.

Wtf? Walt loves them. He's a piece of shit, but he knew the police were there. Flynn was calling them before he left. That entire phone call was a performance to free Skylar. I think taking Holly was part of that too.

Agreed.
Edit: except for the Holly part. I think he was really going to take her. It was a frenzied decision. But , when she started saying "momma" is when he came up with the idea to make that call and "free" Skylar from association with Walt.

where to fuckin' start.
HANK!
And telling Jesse about Jane... that was pure evil.
I really thought Skylar was going to shove that blade into Walt's stomach.
I'm guessin the Brotherhood is gonna keep Jesse on the dangle with the threat of killing Andrea/Brock, which means they've got their pure product back.
And now I"m thinkin that M60 he's got in the trunk a few months from now is to finally take care of Jesse. The one last loose end.

That was like the ending of 'Crawl Space' stretched over an entire episode. Borderline unbearable.

Interesting note; apparently, this is Vince Gilligan's favorite episode of the series.

Holy shit! Fantastic episode. Loved the interaction between Walt and Hank in the desert. Walt trying not to burst into tears when talking to Skylar was gut wrenching. Seems obvious they are going full-on redemption for Walt and I can't see that happening without him saving Jessee.
Rian Johnson directed this episode and also directed the great Fly episode. I need to watch Looper.

What an astounding episode. Pitch perfect. Everything I love about the show, compacted and intensified to a piercing degree. Tragic, solemn, sickeningly clever, darkly humorous, sustaining a level of tension to the point of physical discomfort. Every act break was a crushing blow, every left turn a sly reminder that this show can defy even the most savvy viewer's expectations. The direction was right on par with the writing, loaded with symbolism and eye candy; with one very minor exception (Skyler's superfluous, crassly-ADR'd "whose truck is that?") every line reading packed a prodigious wallop. On first viewing, this could be the single greatest episode of the show. Even Hollie deserves a fucking Emmy.

Rewatching it. Shit, even the Hitchcock dolly zoom they do on Walt after Hank dies is powerful. That technique has been overused to the point of comedy, but it was done beautifully (and tastefully) here.

"I bet we could get it out of them. I could do it. Me and him, we got history."
Goddamn, Todd is a psychopath.

Holy crap that was awesome! Not sure how they're going to cover all they need to in the next two episodes though. Will the next one just be a quick rundown on the important points up to the flash forwards we've seen?

Walt moving into the light to deliver his last words to Pinkman. I'm a sucker for this.
