Instead it is apparently an album with some potentially difficult songs that were heard in a noisy bar that the people said they need some time to digest. this is also a sign that we should be discouraged, even though this is theoretically exactly the right kind of response to have to the sort of music people claim they want the band to write. It is true that this doesn't sound like LB, FD, or MYM, but I've gotten the sense from the reviews that these are, if not outliers, not indicative of the album as a whole.

I'd prefer to hear someone come out and say that this was amazing, but I've never had that reaction to a single pearl jam album on first listen, and I wouldn't expect to find that here, especially under these circumstances.

I am continuing to maintain, as I've basically done throughout, that these reviews are useful for giving us a sense of what types of songs these are, and that's it. I said that before we heard anything.
Maybe they just don't show their excitement because Germans are like that.
We are miserable all the time.

Seriously? You're seriously ruling out this album based on these reviews, even though we shouldn't get excited about the album based on the same reviews? I'm just trying to make sure that's what's happening.

Is there anyone here who hasn't liked Pearl Jam for a while and feels the need to tell us?

Just looking for some original thoughts to pass the time.

I think most people are assuming this album sucks without hearing it for the same reason we used to assume the new Pearl Jam album would be awesome without hearing it: recent track record.

Mike, can you make an 8-bit version with a normal voice over?
I wouldn't know how to remove the Uke if thats even possible. I just sometimes fool around in Cubase a little. I don't know much about audio-stuff.
OK, can you try making your added keys 8-bit?

And then we all go "I'll dig your grave, we'll dance and and sing":

I thought I might enjoy seeing the album in on this forum but I don't know at this point. It's going to be really fun for a lot of people to offer witty negative comments about it.

Platy raised a totally serious question. Then McP and Thodoks reaffirmed their desire to troll the album. McP will do some funny stuff. Thodoks will recycle the same 6 posts he rotates through

Its funny b/c considering the listening environment, I think the reviews have been pretty positive. The only negativity has really been towards SBM, which is pretty expected.
