I understand that. But it's 1 album, 2 albums tops. I'm more worried about the years those have taken than the fact of the two albums themselves.

What? No.
Platy raised a totally serious question. Then McP and Thodoks reaffirmed their desire to troll the album. McP will do some funny stuff. Thodoks will recycle the same 6 posts he rotates through
McP's posts are the only reason I don't want PJ to call it quits

Either way, Pearl Jam's output has pretty much sucked for 7 years now. That's reason enough to be pessimistic about Lightning Bolt.

It is true that this doesn't sound like LB, FD, or MYM, but I've gotten the sense from the reviews that these are, if not outliers, not indicative of the album as a whole.

I'd prefer to hear someone come out and say that this was amazing, but I've never had that reaction to a single pearl jam album on first listen, and I wouldn't expect to find that here, especially under these circumstances.

I am continuing to maintain, as I've basically done throughout, that these reviews are useful for giving us a sense of what types of songs these are, and that's it. I said that before we heard anything.
Maybe they just don't show their excitement because Germans are like that.
Seriously? You're seriously ruling out this album based on these reviews, even though we shouldn't get excited about the album based on the same reviews? I'm just trying to make sure that's what's happening.

Its funny b/c considering the listening environment, I think the reviews have been pretty positive. The only negativity has really been towards SBM, which is pretty expected.

yup. They've been positive without falling over themselves.

I think thodoks has or is wasting his A material on attempting second accounts....

It didn't turn out quite, quite like we hoped.

And like 1/3 of this album.

What? No.

Harmless has been on edge all day. Pay no mind.
I'm just really excited to see what post 6666 has to bring.
Sorry, my bad. I tend to read sarcasm into all of your posts. 'Maybe Germans are just like that' sounded kind of flippant.

Ahh! I like what I'm hearing there! Regardless of whether or not it should be on the album, it's going to be a nice song.

Hearing you say this is like hearing B'OB say something is great. It means I know I'm going to hate it.

I like all of the songs we've heard so far, FD significantly less so than the other two.

It's not great, but it's good. It's solid. That's what I'm hoping for for this album. I'm pretty resigned to the fact that Ten through Riot act is our 7-album run of classics.

I think it's the best non-cover in Uke Dongs. I like it a lot. I'm guessing people don't like the full-band version because it probably feels redundant.
