I caved in and gave the recording a listen. This is probably the most immediate and hooky and sentimental Pearl Jam album there is. I'm sure I will enjoy this a lot when it's officially released. My worry is if these immediate hooks will have staying power or if they're more like candy you get sick of.

Yep, that's the only worry I have.

We will see what the future holds.

Questionable production decisions will not help either.

Just listened to every sample that was just posted. The energy certainly seems to be there, but my knee jerk reaction is that A) the drums sound horrific and B) there’s a sameness to everything in how it’s all triumphant, mid tempo, and very loud that puts them closer to the Foo Fighters than not.

I've already read the comparison with the Foo Fighters, and man, this record sounds NOTHING like them.

Please stop it.
