I thought the Crow trailer was fine

"goth" can be interpreted in all sorts of ways and this generation's goths don't look like ours did (we have pastel goth now!)

hopefully it'll be OK, and I kind of like that it's not trying to be the same movie, because now it remains untouched (as it should)

Indeed, I really try to avoid trailers as they often give away so much but I had to with The Crow. The first aerial view was incredibly reminiscent of the original and the later multiple gun-shots on the stairs really kind of hit me in a not good way regarding the original.

That all said, from the trailer it seems to stray so incredibly far from not just the original film but the first O'Barr comics. I find that incredibly lazy and a tell that they don't feel as positive about it as they should.

They only had to hurdle Edward Furlong and some telekinetic Lucifer shit so I feel they could have done their own thing.

I also don't think we'll be discussing the new one's soundtrack thirty years from now but that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

That shotgun to the head is brutal. Don’t think i can remember something so graphic in a trailer before.

The movie could be an absolute slaughterfest but I feel they could have left that particular bit for the film viewer to see first.
The editing of the trailer basically tells a full story rather than being effective at making one want to buy a ticket.

Yeah they definitely talked me OUT of watching this. Loved the original back in the day but who knows what I’d think now.

I try to watch it every year around Halloween.
I wouldn't be surprised to find you still enjoy it, you seem keen to a (sort of) redemption story and the soundtrack really is impeccable.

O’Barr remarked that losing Lee was like losing his fiancée all over again and he regretted ever writing the comic in the first place. The sequels would later follow different storylines, different men who become The Crow and no one else has touched the character of Eric Draven (save for the short-lived Canadian TV series adaptation).

The original is one of my all time favorite films (The Crow, I'm talking about). I goddamn love it. It still resonates, feels special.

I was excited to see they were doing a remake because I assumed it was going to be more faithful to the OG graphic novel (which I also adore).

This trailer really bummed me out. While I'm pumped they aren't doing a straight up reboot/remake of the '94 film (that would have been depressing), I really thought the reason someone wanted to remake it was to be more faithful to the source material. And.... this ain't that.

I've always said the only other Crow story that would be great on screen is that of Iris Shaw.

I've forgotten so much about the subsequent graphic novel stories. But I do remember liking that one.
