REPORT: The Wolves Have Reached Out To The Knicks Inquiring Into Derrick Rose

He'd be a great 6th man for a team, the problem is the money is too tough to work out. Rubio for Rose works money wise but they shouldn't do that trade.

The Wolves have been looking to unload Shabazz Muhammad (for some reason). If they can package him and something other than Rubio (maybe a draft pick) I'd be interested. I like Shabazz as the 6th man, but if Rose is healthy he's clearly an upgrade. With all the young talent the Wolves have, I worry about chemistry too.

Rose isn't a problem in the locker room chemistry wise, but he'd be unhappy playing 23 or something minutes a game. Thibs would know that and I don't think he'd do the deal if he didn't plan to play him. He can still score (inside the three point line), but his game is way too one dimensional for the Wolves to be seriously considering it. What will be more interesting as far is rose is concerned is what he chooses to do next year. Take money to start on a bad team or play a role on a great team. He'd be killer off the bench but his ego won't allow that and I'm thinking he ends up in Sacramento or something.

His game is one dimensional, but so is Shabazz's game. And Rose is better at that one dimension. If the trade is centered on Shabazz and a draft pick or Shabazz and another player not named Rubio/Wiggins/Towns/LaVine, I'm in. Otherwise, not interested. And my guess is that another team will offer better than that. The Thibs factor is a bit of a Wild card. You never know how much he values a vet and someone he knows so well.

Trading for Rose would be a horrible trade for the Wolves. They don't need the cap space the end of his contract would give him, nor does he really fit their needs.

Why is Magic Johnson qualified to run the Lakers? Because he's a former player? Seems like an old school approach and they should have just hired Hinkie.

Thibs wants a vet he's familiar with I just don't get why it would be rose. He doesn't set the tone on defense and they don't need a volume scorer. He should trade for Taj Gibson instead.

A Taj trade would make a lot more sense.

Vlade Divac is getting absolutely torn apart for acknowledging he had a better deal two days ago...

Is it possible that maybe he was told by Cousins' agent that he wouldn't report to whatever team it was? That would explain the "talk to the agents" part? Or that Cousins' said he wouldnt considering signing an extension there so the team wouldn't pull the trigger?

Just speculating what that whole weirdness was about.

I feel like cousins would have been redundant for them with horford on the roster. Obviously boogie is a better player but what they really need is a wing who can take pressure off Isaiah. It's looking more and more like Boston will stand Pat, which is what I would do if I were Ainge.
If your guy Jimmy was available I'd give up one of the Brooklyn picks in a second. Otherwise I'd hold pat. Supposedly they are interested in Jahlil Okafor which seems idiotic. A team that can't rebound doesn't need Brook Lopez 2.0.
Good read from a longtime Celtics beat writer on where things stand and Danny's thinking, actually a good read for any nba fan, touches on a bunch of players. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/celt ... e_deadline

The mystery team pulled the deal because cousins agent was supposedly saying how there is a 90% chance he won't resign with whatever team he is traded to.

I like some of the Nets moves as of late. If they can get another first rounder or two for Lopez they will be resetting correctly.

Then why would Divac be taking so much heat? Don't we want some honesty out of our GMs?

can boogie and the brow really be effective together?

aside from timmy d and the admiral i cant think of two bigs that played well together in starter minutes

horford and milsap may be the last two?

Gasol and Randolph had a good run.

They are both going to want to occupy the same space and if AD ends up being stretched out on the perimeter more you're no longer getting the best version of AD. Cousins has never really had an elite teammate in the NBA so maybe we will see a new wrinkle in his game but I just don't think he has the basketball IQ to pull this off.

I think it can work, but I'm not sure Cousins will have the patience/coachability that will be required. I can't wait to watch their game tonight.
