I heard that the plot of the next one is going to be someone travelling to the Engineer's planet. Is she the main character? Has Rapace been cast yet?

Seems like she'd have to be. I believe Fassbender (or at least his character) was already confirmed, so.

I rewatched Prometheus last night, and had my original opinion confirmed: aesthetically stunning (to the point where it plays like a classic in that respect - maybe the best digital cinematography ever), but dumb as a bag of nails. Just staggeringly awful in terms of themes, characters, and writing. Which is such a shame, because there's a great movie in there that's screaming to get out. So glad Scott is gonna make more of these with different writers.

It also occurred to me that I would love to see Ridley Scott make a Middle-earth movie.

i still love it. Im with you, it has the best digital cinematography, the best 3d, and the art direction is just superb. The script is a mess, its full of holes, and everything gets weird and confusing...but, im dying for the sequel.

Ok, consider me a big Sean Baker fan...I loved Starlet and with Tangerine he just stepped up his craft. The movie looks GORGEOUS and it was shoot on a fuckin Iphone...great music, great cast...
Whenever i see one of those corporate boring movies like the skeleton twins ill remember his movies.

This is indie film fuckers. This is cinema.

Starlet was great but im not sure what i will think of this one.

Its such a beautiful and complex movie, one of those sincere movies that mainstream cinema doesnt know how to do anymore. They would cast will smith for the main role and spend 50k in the budget.

Why would the biologist travelling to an alien planet pet a strange creature at first sight? That would be like me, an educated Pearl Jam fan, declaring Backspacer safe to listen to after only seeing the cover.

It is one of the worst scenes in the history of film. I'm convinced the actors got their lines mixed up and Scott didn't notice.
