The Cubs played winning baseball 103 times this season and have played October baseball the last two seasons with a young lineup. I'm no baseball genius, but I would get used to not liking this Cubs team.

The morning before the Red Sox got eliminated, I didn't go around talking shit about how great their young lineup is and how they won the division.
This is what I hate about Cubs fans and why I hope the Cubs never win. You should be mad that they have played like shit, not happy that they didn't finish in last place.

Probably the only thing worse is a fanbase that loves telling other fanbases how to be fans.

I don't live and die with baseball anymore. I was devastated in 03 and 08 though. it sure looked like there was a lot of that feeling in the ballpark last night. If what you're saying is that Cubs fans shouldn't believe in the culture that has been built over the last few years and feel some security in the young roster they have i don't know what to tell you.

I hope the Cubs score as many or more runs as layers Eddie Vedder will be wearing during the stretch tonight.

Basically. But two weeks of variance determining a champion after a 9 month long season works too.
I feel like Cubs fans would feel differently about the importance of the World Series if they were up 3-1 right now.

And the Cubs didn't win the division this season, they were far and away the best team in baseball. Variance for two weeks in October doesnt change that.

Maybe they do? I lack perspective because I'm basically a casual fan at this point.

Is it just me or does Fox's choice of pregame crew with two of the most prolific stat guys (Rose & Rodriguez) who will never make the HOF seem odd?
