As it stands, the Wall is mostly destroyed. There is no Night's Watch. What more do you want explored?

The amount of Wall destroyed changes nothing. That's not really the piont.

Well if they wanted to fix it, they could build a wall for the missing mile.

Sure. But the larger point is that there's no reason to rebuild it.Anders wrote:Well if they wanted to fix it, they could build a wall for the missing mile.
And if it isn't addressed any further, which most of us expect it won't be, then it's logical and satisfying to think that they don't rebuild. It's not an answer I need, at any rate. That's all.

they could make a spin-off series based on rebuilding it. ideally, a sitcom.durdencommatyler wrote:Sure. But the larger point is that there's no reason to rebuild it.Anders wrote:Well if they wanted to fix it, they could build a wall for the missing mile.

I’m sure the books will explain these sort of things. Martin does that really well.

I’ve wondered about this. You’d imagine they’d expand into the north and have new lands now that the threat is gone.
Make use of the break in the wall.
But then.
All the big families/ houses that have been wiped out
What’s happened to them? The Frey’s, The Vale, Mormont, etc etc
All these lords and noble families gone but presumably their subjects are still farming the lands they rent off them and just getting on with it
Who’s looking after all that?

The reason they show Jon at that point is because he was supposed to be the hero who saves the day, but he’s clearly not in any position to do so.dimejinky99 wrote:Ok. He definitely shouts GO! Three times. We don’t see him looking anywhere.
It’s unclear/unverified it’s arya and they obviously didn’t want to tip their hand by showing her and him telling her to go.
But in another light, the shot of jon and the dragon is needless given what’s happening with night king standing over Bran.
They could have just stayed there on that shot.
I dunno.
I love it as a theory and if it came to be true. It makes sense.
Also, come on Dime, verify with screenshots before bringing someone’s bad take to this thread

Why was the wall built? To keep out what’s on the other side i.e. white walkers/wildlings
Are those threats still there? No
With no threats, is the wall necessary?

Yes, they were destroyed by Azor Ahai.Mecca wrote:I’m assuming you mean the white walkers? The Last Hero defeated the White Walkers with the help of the Children and ended the Long Night--no one knows exactly what happened. Azor Ahai is a legend (myth?) from the East that is very similar to the Last Hero, but most likely not the same person.Anders wrote:Yes, they were destroyed by Azor Ahai.Mecca wrote:I’m assuming you mean the white walkers? It is difficult for the people in Westeros to predict what can happen from the north, unless Bran says something about it. Even for us, that are basically all knowing, it’s impossible to tell if the danger from the north is gone for good.
