Isn't Sandor's leg way to crippled to be in any condition to fight? Not sure what the timeline is like and how much time will have gone by between Brienne at the Quiet Island and the trial. Don't think it will heal that fast.
I think Sandor might return to the story but I think it's not for the trial.

it's probably been a few months just based on how long it takes to travel to braavos for arya and getting from the vale to winterfell, and so on

The show has done a really good and artfully subtle job of communicating that a good amount of time has passed. So, yeah, what Mecca said.

Yeah, but Brienne seeing the lame Gravedigger and Cersei's Walk of Shame aren't that far apart chronologically. According to this it's only about 1-2 months. Not sure the Elder Brother's healing powers are that great.
The show is handling how much time has passed pretty differently. Myrcella has only been in Dorne for about a year in the books but she tells Jaime something about Dorne being her home for years.

Balon is also dead in the books like 2 years ago. The show is dark and full of errors.

That's kind of where Im at. I figure so much of what can be spoiled is characters we dont know yet (or never will), or rooted heavily in speculation and theory. Occasionally i come across something that makes me wish I didnt know it, but for the most part it's fine.

Whether Stannis takes Winterfell or not, there's no way Davos stands with him, right? Is there any way he goes on a find-Rickon journey on his own, or has the littlest Stark basically been written out of the show?

I'm a little worried that the blog-o-sphere blowback tomorrow will be similar to what happened after Sansa's reaped--I.e., people groaning that GOT is all about shock, and that we're "supposed" to expect the worst. This was different--different from Ned's beheading, different from the Red Wedding (which both happened in Episode #9 of a season, right?). Have we ever had a character who's been presented as nothing but honorable make an objectively wrong choice like this?

I guess you can make th case that Stannis was ready to sacrifice Gendry/Edric, but it wasn't like they were on the pyre. This is a choice that's going to reverberate for the last few seasons--at least I hope so.

i feel like this all could confirm that Stannis fails in the overall story.

I'd be surprised if he survives next week; he's getting very close to Brienne.
