i need to listen to this one again
i liked it on the few listens ive given it so far, but have been trying to hold off till the album

I like the ear worm aspect of it as well. I don't even remember the last time PJ released a 'catchy' song that I wanted to be singing along to. Aside from the chorus, this one qualifies. The true test for me will be whether I like the studio version as much musically. I don't see why I won't, but as usual, I'm a bit concerned Matt will phone it in.

The drumming was one of the best things about Backspacer, though, so we'll see.

If PJ were the corporate whores people make them out to be, I bet LB would have been the first single. I think it would have a good shot at doing better on the charts than any single they have released at least post Yield. MYM is a very good song but not nearly as radio friendly.

I don't mind them making radio friendly songs at all personally if the songs are actually as good as this. Most of Ten is radio friendly songs with big sing-along choruses but it was also very dark and edgy because of the lyrics/subject matter. They ended up not releasing Black as a single even back then, when it could have potentially been bigger than Jeremy. I don't care if they never release songs like LB as singles, as long as they make them and put them on the album! I'm not expecting this album to be to full of angst or pain but I do believe it will have an underlying theme, judging by MYM, the artwork and what I've seen of the video so far. MYM has an edge to it which Backspacer songs didn't. I loved Backspacer, but it was not meant to be that sort of album. I think LB is going to be different.

Make sure you vote in the song tournament once drafting is done. I will need the support of people with such discerning taste!

Thematically I suspect it will pick up with the darker 'now that I have something I don't want to lose it' undercurrents of backspacer with s/t's focus on how the political impacts the personal

Suddenly I want them to make a video for Lightning Bolt. It's got the whole album named after itself, after all.

Personally, this is my favourite song from them since Binaural (or maybe cropduster/ghost) graced my ears. I feel super blest to have connected with a band that is ripping it this real so far into their career and I am genuinely excited to get my hands on this album.

I really liked the music on this one, the lyrics seem kind of meh, though. Ill reserve judgement until I hear the studio version.

This song has me so giddy excited. It's so damn catchy. I think this will be a great single too. My wife and kids all love it, and that's a rare thing when it comes to PJ.

to me it sounds like "all the problems.. they won't die with you.." you know, more insignificance of man type-stuff.

your death will soon arrive as she (nature) finally decides.. that you, in the grand scheme of things, aren't that important. that's what i've been hearing/getting out of it.

regardless.. this song keeps getting better and better. i sincerely hope to the god that doesn't exist that BoB doesn't fuck this one up.
