These people are not human beings. I am, however, glad that they put on a show that I personally found more entertaining. I might even watch the Oscars next year.

I've chosen a human that I have a lot more compassion for than the other human
There is a wide fucking gap. Size of the ocean maybe. Of acting human/showing vulnerability and doing what will smith did. WTF. WHy is this difficult to comprehend?

Im still not going to watch the oscars though. Unless they bring in a wrestling ring for such occasions.

Because what Rock did is not nearly the same thing as what will smith did.

Harmless, are you disappointed that every actor and actress who has graced the red carpet has not physically assaulted every host/comedian to ever lay a joke at their expense?

I think the difference between me and most people here is that I begin at: Chris Rock was and is a playground bully who should factor into his set the possibility that a punter might act out in playground defense

Of course not. I am actually a very empathetic person. I can feel bad for someone and disagree with their actions. I dont feel bad for will smith, to be honest, in this situation.
I feel bad for jada for losing her hair. That would crush me because my hair is all i have going for myself.

Words can not possibly hurt anyone. You hear the words, then you may feel pain because of what you think about the words. The goal should be to not care enough about anyone's opinion of you; to have a solid enough sense of self to where it doesn't matter what anyone thinks about you but you. You would think adult movie stars with a gazillion dollars would have found guidance and be privy to such higher ways of being, to the point where humor is just humor, and playing with egos is just... fun.
