Ir would be a total Pearl Jam move to not release a good video for their number 1 song

Starting at 4:30, it always sounds to me like he changes it to “falling through the wreckage, calling through the wreckage, crawling through the wreckage.”

I think Daughter is a really, really great song that we tend to take for granted because we've heard it a million times. I don't *think* that Wreckage will hold the same power for me decades down the line, but who knows.

I mean I have to allow for the fact that Daughter is so familiar I would never need to hear it again. We can't really compare something that is less than a year old to something that's 30. One is exciting and new. But one has been a cornerstone piece of music that has grown old with me in a meaningful way.
But that doesn't change the fact that if Daughter came up in the car right now I'd probably skip it to see what came next. And I would turn up Wreckage and sing along

Really curious to see how posts like those found on this page will age.

I appreciate that everyone has different tastes and preferences. To each their own.
But, for me, Wreckage, which I like, doesn't hold a candle to Daughter. They aren't even in the same league.

will say this for it, you can hear the origin of it, just a noodly little thing that does just sound like an off the cuff in the moment jam almost. They somehow managed to keep that. wish they did that more often

i just saw trags post after i wrote that lol
couldnt disagree more. Daughter is precise and couldnt be more contrived, in the best way. Wreckage doesnt have that at all, to these ears.
