the end is really nice - the backing music is pumped up without drawing focus

this was a great listen. more of a remix than a remastering. lots of small changes that add up to a fairly different experience of the same songs. Loved it. Even more than the ST brickwall mix this would be a solid starting place to reconsider backspacer. I highly reccomend

if you are on the fence give got some a headphones listen. this remix captures the playful, propulsive feel of the song and addresses the thin reediness

gsmf was probably the weakest of these. every other mix uncovers something new about the songs

Not sure about Amongst the Waves. It's a bit of a more straightforward mix, and I like the haze that hangs over the original.

tragabigzanda wrote:Guys these aren't re-mixes. Stems are stereo bounces of instrument groups (drums, guitars, bass, vox, keys). So the guitar stems for The Fixer have all the guitars for the song, sounding EXACTLY like the guitars on the album sound, but just on an isolated stereo track. There's much less one can do creatively with stems than with individual tracks.
Nevertheless...

Well don't everyone thank me at once.

I really like it and I'm only one song in. Sounds more seperated and bigger.
It's a little harsh treble wise though

I get why people dont like it..those people think pearl jam shouldnt be allowed have fun..same way i hate ST cos its all forced and fake angry. I dont know what LB is trying to be..its such a weird bunch of songs that doesnt hang well together at all...

but this one has a shape and a purpose and a flow...nearest thing to sounding like a bunch of songs put together in a garage and just released we're likely to ever get.

I liked these versions of FON, the end, amongst the waves, just breathe, and speed of sound all quite a bit better than the originals. Unthought known was interesting but I'm still not sure if I would prefer this one. Johnny guitar was worse and I'm not sure about the rest of them.

Thanks for posting this!
