Hey LV, what are your thoughts on the Riddick movies? I think we've spoken about this but I can't remember

I’m not a fan. I think it’s a good concept, but they’re really poorly written and directed. It’s a shame.

Oh good. We just have such opposite tastes overall, and when you told me to have some self-respect for being excited about the next Arctic Monkeys release so quickly on the heels of your gd thread, I thought it might be me. I'd survive, of course, but I generally enjoy your posts, so I'd have been a little bummed.

I feel like it seems to perpetually be in this status, but apparently it’s still in post-production and there are plans to release it in China “soon.”

LV, can you think of a single movie that influenced messenger bike culture more than Quicksilver? Also, what do you think of Quicksilver?

It was, sadly, a serious question.

Unfortunately I do not know anything about bike messenger culture and I have never seen Quicksilver.

It's typically acknowledged (tongue-in-cheek no doubt) in cycling circles as THE movie that put messenger AKA fixie bike culture on the map. I personally am not a fixie rider and think the whole culture is kind of stupid, but it's a lot of fun watching that otherwise awful movie through that lens. It's the Breakin' of bike movies. I think I read in this thread that you're a Kevin Bacon fan which is why I thought maybe you'd seen it. It's got a solid 14% critic and 38% audience score on RT.
