Re: Saturday Night Live
4-15-17: Jimmy Fallon/Harry Styles
..
Cold Open: Just stop it with Baldwin, not funny. Was expecting Timberlake to be in one of the costumes.
Monologue: I hate when they feel the need to use a lot extras/back up dancers - what a waste
Celebrity Family Feud: Cecily's Liza Minelli was good as was Kate's Kristen Stewart. Fallon's 1977 Travolta was ok, but it was already done better on SNL by Dana Carvey. His 2017 Travolta sounded like Alec Baldwin doing Trump. If/when Kenan leaves the show, they should bring him back every once in a while to do this.
Legally Blonde The Musical: I've been to a few kids' musicals, this was great
Take Me Back: Awful, the Pepsi commercial line was only half decent thing about it
Sean Spicer: See Trump/Baldwin
Harry Styles #1: ?
Weekend Update: I usually hate the guests on WU, but love Jacob and Bruce Chandling.
Civil War Song: Meh
Turtle Shirt: I thought this was ok.
Boston Couple: Not surprised this was on, not that funny
Harry Styles #2: ?
Basketball Scene: Not sure where this was going at first, but it was good
Not a bad episode overall, but not much of a Fallon fan.
Best Skit: Family Feud - all of the celebrities could be awful, but Thompson's Steve Harvey is great
Worst Skit: Take Me Back/Cold Open/Sean Spicer

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: Saturday Night Live
It's been really tough this season. As sad as it is, the Fallon episode was probably the most consistent so far. It's best sketch wasn't that great, but the worst sketch wasn't too bad.tragabigzanda wrote:So glad to see someone else diving into the nitty gritty with me.

Re: Saturday Night Live
I didn't last night's episode was that bad. Chris Pine was a pleasant surprise as the host & was in nearly every skit. I never thought of him as a skit performer but he's pretty good and was obviously enjoying himself. Bobby Moynihan got the most air time he's had in months. And what happened to Cecily Strong on the show? I really thought she was a rising star but we haven't seen much of her on a regular basis at all.

Re: Saturday Night Live
this episode was terrible...i like chris pine and he has an okay voice, but why was he singing in 82% of the sketches?

i thought it was strange cecily was barely in this episode since she's been featured so much before...i did notice vanessa bayer was in quite a few, and there's been times she was barely used alsoBiff Pocoroba wrote:I didn't last night's episode was that bad. yeah other than bennett and mckinnon right now it's up for grabstragabigzanda wrote:It's largely a crap shoot; each week is a battle for air time.
