What’s your ideal running temp? And does humidity affect you much?washing machine wrote:Let's hear it for 80 degree "fall" running weather.

Re: The Running Thread
I haven't noticed that humidity affects my performance, but it definitely makes me feel more fatigued afterwards. Good hydration helps.
Give me temps in the 40s and 50s all day everyday if you can. Warm enough to still wear short sleeves but cool enough not to drain me.

Re: The Running Thread
I like low 50’s as long as it’s not overly cloudy or there’s a breeze. This morning was like that, though I did start a little bit before the sun rose. I don’t necessarily dislike when it’s hot, but it does affect me.washing machine wrote:I haven't noticed that humidity affects my performance, but it definitely makes me feel more fatigued afterwards. Re: The Running Thread
Well I ended up not signing up for the Houston race, BUT I did sign up for Run the Alamo 13.1 in San Antonio. It's in early March, like the race I ran last year. Pretty much identical training block. Should be fun!epilogue wrote:washing machine wrote:Tonight an old friend who I only keep up with on Strava and Instagram came to my restaurant with her girlfriend, and we all talked about running and races for like half an hour. We sort of decided to sign up together for the Houston half in January. Good connections.
190 feet of elevation gain on this one. Not something a sea level flatlander like me is used to, but most of you guys would probably still call that a "flat" course.

Race day: March 5th. Training starts in December. Going to burn off some donuts 'til then.
This medal is beyond ridiculous and I kind of love it.

I bet it wears out the shoe's ankles slightly faster, but when I get home after a run I can't be bothered to take that extra step to kneel down and untie. Anyone else in this camp?

I’ve got the first part down. I really don’t feel like eating or drinking anything other than water.doug rr wrote:now sit on the couch and have 2 beerslennytheweedwhacker wrote:Only made it 3.08 due to stomach issues. Ah well I got out there at least.

4.5 slow miles. Did the last .5 in 4:10 without feeling winded though. The whole thing felt nice.
