I'm more concerned about Mike Pence. Super social conservative. I picture Trump just walking around enjoying the stature and boost to his already massive ego while Pence is dealing with the policies, diplomacy, and what not.

Mike Pence is probably sporting some ferocious wood over the prospect of punishing the sinful whores who haphazardly get pregnant without actually wanting to be. Not to mention throwing all those dirty queers and dykes in jail for applying for a marriage licence.

Yeah, I think Trump will prove to less conservative than he advertised during the campaign. Pence's ideology is much more frightening.

Agree about Trump probably turning out to be quietly democrat but the question is how much is he gonna by to sit back and let those around him or Pence, take the rudder?
TBH guys I think the most shocked person about all this is trump himself. He knows he's not equipped for it.

I don't think Trump expected to last to the Iowa caucus when he announced his bid. I can't believe so many people fell for his con.dimejinky99 wrote:TBH guys I think the most shocked person about all this is trump himself. He knows he's not equipped for it.
Does this mean Billy Bush can get his job back?
This vote really made it crystal clear which side of the electorate I fall in, as if I didn't know already.

Hi.
Without trying to be too dramatic, i fucking feel ill about this. The one silver lining is the popular vote. Small sliver of hope for mankind.
How the fuck do i get up and try and teach yoga tonight?

Yeah I had to get up and teach US Government and Politics. One of the classes contains a very vocal group of Trumpphiles. FML.Strat wrote: How the fuck do i get up and try and teach yoga tonight?

Doesn't this support the assertion, to a degree? I think the one big surprise was white women, who slightly went for Trump, but overall Clinton was slightly less popular than Obama among most groups and couldn't beat a huge gap among rural, presumably white voters that Trump captured.BurtReynolds wrote:time for the media and the Left to stop pretending its old white males vs everyone else. Re: Election 2016
I see what you're saying; personally, I just think this underestimates the huge amount of power the executive branch enjoys in certain regards (the nuclear "button," for example) and also underestimates the uniqueness of Trump as a potential president.Bi_3 wrote:For sure, but the absurd overreaction hyperbole being thrown around right now is just silly, bordering on sad. Trump does not literally get to put his finger on the nuke button, it's an agreement between like a dozen people. For this other stuff; the thousands of people, regulations, and lawsuits one must overcome to do the things being suggested will prevent Trump from doing evil, just like it prevent every modern President before him (and prevented a lot of them from doing good). The federal government is not a bunch of mindless robots that only obey the whims of the executive (uhhh... remember Comey last week?) Plus, we have no idea who his cabinet is going to be. We have no idea the real level of support he will have in Congress should he do something that threatens one of the S&P 100. It's brexit hysteria all over again.digster wrote:Will every thing he said come to pass? No, of course not, but I don't think it's Pollyanna-ish to acknowledge this is a far different nominee from the norm.Bi_3 wrote:From what? Trump ovens?
