Eh, if true, I'm worried. Some movies are great as is and don't need a sequel just because people loved it. This is one of them. I heard rumblings of an Edge of Tomorrow sequel in development. That is another one that doesn't need it. Two amazing movies, just let them exist.

I feel like this discussion has been had here before but do you (or anyone here) feel the sequel has some bearing on how you view the original thereafter?

Yeah it just depends, like Burt said. Some sequels that suck I just pretend don't exist and only ever talk about/watch the original. Others do take a little away from the mystique and high pedestal of movies I love. I'll try to think of an example of the latter.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

lol obviously I'm being hyperbolic and I know people still get excited about movies but I have consciously disengaged with most internet channels where I would hear about such things. I try to just stick to talking to a few of my closest friends about movies at this point. Current cinema is too bleak to care about for me.
