The US/Israel/Saudi vs Iran/Shia thing has been fighting proxy wars for years. I'm not sure how this really shifts things besides unnecessarily pissing of the arab community.

The U.S. is incapable of severing ties with Saudi Arabia ($$$$) despite all the evidence that it fuels Wahhabism and ISIS, so Trump did the next best/worst thing and doubled down on our relationship.

It'll probably go something like this... Iran loses its shit and strikes Israel. Saudis swoop in and get to come across as "the good guys."

b. see a weakened Israel
c. continue to fund terrorism

For all we know this was to avert Israel starting a war with Lebanon, which seemed pretty imminent over the last two weeks.

It's wild that concealed carry across states is being drafted WHILE a school shooting happens, Republicans are blasting an institution primarily staffed by Republicans as partisan hacks, and are pushing an economic agenda that no one wants except their donors, many of whom seem spooked to death by the money laundering aspect of the Russia investigation, and which is not significantly different from the bill you would pass if your goal was legislative sabotage.
